If you need an excuse to sit at home drinking with your cats (or imaginary cats), this is the pourrrr-fect opportunity.
This Polish vodka is unique, in that it’s distilled six times with spring water, and made with an unusual, ancient grain: spelt. The full-bodied 80 proof spirit is distinctive enough to be enjoyed straight, on the rocks or frozen (as a snow leopard would probably prefer it), suggests the New York Times‘ Florence Fabricant. We, of course, prefer the vodka in a cocktail.
Try the Snow Kitty:
60ml Snow Leopard Vodka
2.5 bar spoons of damson conserve
2 bar spoons of honey
5ml lemon juice
Muddle the blueberries. Add rest of ingredients and stir together. Shake with ice and strain into Martini glass.
Previously only available in the UK, Snow Leopard Vodka, can now be found in New York City at Astor Wines & Spirits or via their online shop. If you’re in New York, you can also visit Snow Leopards at the Central Park Zoo (which is not BYOB and does not encourage pre-gaming, put a post-zoo visit cocktail should be in order).
Finally, drinking that actually legitimately helps our furry friends.
